Meter testing facilities

The state of the art testing facilities allow meter validation to be performed to approval levels


The Landis+Gyr test and validation department performs testing on all new and existing products to ensure that they meet the requirements of approval including approvals for MID and IEC.

The specialized ‘In House’ testing facilities allow ampy to perform almost all of the testing required to ensure that our products attain the requirements of approvals.

The facilities of the test department include the following;

A walk in environmental testing chamber where up to 300 meters can be tested to temperatures of -40˚C through to 80˚C and up to 90% humidity over an 11 week cycle.

3 additional chambers are also available to test dry, damp and cold extremes of conditions.

Thermal imaging cameras are also used to identify hot spots in mechanical design which can detect down to component level.

Other testing facilities include;

• G Tem Radiated Emissions and radiated immunity testing
• Contactor testing for 120amps Credit and Polyphase meters and full 400amp testing for ANSI standard meter
